VETEMENTS studies, dissects and redefines the essence of fashion by creating garments that are meant to be worn. The label avoids current trends and tendencies and focuses on giving the wearer the freedom to form their own visual voice. The pieces don’t tell a story, they offer a new wardrobe that is easy to mix with old and new, promoting personal style over a “fashion uniform.”

VETEMENTS is inspired by a masculine wardrobe where tailoring is always the focal point. At the core of the brand is the research between the clothes, the body and the attitude of the wearer and street style is often referred to in the collections, resulting in exaggerated proportions, contrasting silhouettes and authentic materials. Ultimately, the design approach is to create clothes that are appreciated for their unique creative and technical qualities.

What did you dream of becoming when you were a kid?

Fashion designer

How did you start?

By watching my grandmother and my mother dress and drawing pretty ugly dresses

How would you describe yourself?

I would not

How do you work as a team?

Debating, discussing, analyzing, fighting and celebrating. It's all about efficiency and balance.

What is your take on fashion? What do you want your products to say?

We want them to remain silent and just be worn and enjoyed!

Who or what inspires you? What moves you?

People, the differene between people and how individual and unique each of us can be.

How would you describe your brand?

It's about... clothes (Vetements in French)

What part of your life influences your designs the most?

The present!

Is travelling regularly an important aspect of your creative process?

I wish I could travel more, but then again, there's internet

What was the last place that really fascinated you?

My bed

Would you say that you created your brand by following your instinct?

Definitely the exixtence of Vetements is a product of instinct and following one's feeling.

Cashflow and production facilities.

Depends on a brand, why not, as long as it's exciting and I can bring something to it...

Any advice you can share with young designers who dream of starting their own brand?

Be sure you really want and believe in it and go ahead, nothing can stop you.
